With every new model year, the Ford F-150 manages to offer even more to impress truck enthusiasts. This year, improvements are all about the performance. The 2018 Ford F-150 features updated powertrains and new standards for capability and efficiency.

Being the best in its class is never enough for the Ford F-150. Ford engineers continue to push for even smarter, more powerful, more economical engines. This time around, the result is a selection of five impressive options, from the most efficient to the strongest.

One option is the updated 3.5-liter EcoBoost® which now offers up to 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque-the best torque in its class. Thanks to new direct injection technology, this engine can offer more power and better efficiency. Also improved is the 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine.

The 5.0-liter V8 is back to deliver the best-in-class payload, plus 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Then there's the Raptor's 3.5-liter EcoBoost®, designed for thrilling performance on and off the pavement at 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. With the exception of the base model, each of the engines in the 2018 Ford F-150 lineup is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission for smooth and peppy acceleration.

A new engine option is the standard 3.3-liter V6, a solid choice for those who want a balance between practicality, power, and fuel economy. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and kicks out 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.

With these new powertrains, the 2018 Ford F-150 can tow more than ever before. Its best-in-class towing maximum now reaches 13,200 pounds, and its payload capacity is 3,270 pounds. A new standard auto stop/start technology also helps the 2018 Ford F-150 to improve its overall fuel efficiency, too, now delivering up to 26 mpg on the highway.*

The Ford F-150 balances power and practicality like no other pickup. Stop in at Bill Walsh Ford today to take this truck for a drive and see how this new performance delivers in person.
